Jesus is not the Messiah, he's not Emanuel
God did not follow his promise in the continuation of David's kingship.
this is an interesting blog post by the author cj werleman - write of the books god hates you, hate him back and jesus lied - he was only human.
he writes with a good dose of humor which usually helps get his point across.. the blog post dissects the latest gallup poll results regarding 40% of americans believe in biblical creationism.
but the point i found interesting in it was that if you don't believe the genesis account is literal....then jesus atoned for the sin of a fictitious character, adam.. here is a quote from the blog...but please give the whole thing a read, makes more sense that way:.
Jesus is not the Messiah, he's not Emanuel
God did not follow his promise in the continuation of David's kingship.
not that i'm thinking about it, even for a brief nano-second, but something i have thought about is this, is there any way you could go back and not have people look at you with the stink eye?
after admitting your true feelings, how in the world could people ever look at you the same?
if you were in the situation of welcoming someone back, would you be able to look past the errors?
I would go back with a shirt "apostates have feelings too" ehheh I would like the see the look on those faces.
The last meetings I just couldn't stand it, double standards, lies and demonisation, over and over and over again e.g. other sheep are the 144,000
i'm not at all overweight but would like to lose 8 pounds...it seems impossible!!!.
i think my problem is that i don't exercise enough.
however, i do walk or cycle to work every day.
some people just have a slower metabolism so its hard to lose weight, exercise will speed up the metabolic rate and burn calories. diets are not for everyone and can be very unhealthy, there is also the common misconception that skinny people are healthier than overweight people.
I think counting calories is more important then cutting food or exercising, knowing your calorie limited and how much calories you can eat a day will help you a lot, its like a map which no one bothers using. Also a healthy diet can be more beneficial than going cold turkey, and studies have show that positive people have an easier time loosing weight then negative or stressed people.
The basics, there are only protein, fat (saturated and non saturated), alchool, and carbohydrates.
carbs- greens, fruits, starches and anything that grows from the ground like sugar which comes from the plant - 4 cal per gram
protein- animals and eggs - 4 cal per gram
fat (non)- fat is very rich in calories, studies have shown that eating non saturated fat can prevent fat storage from carbs - 9 cal per gram
fat (saturated) - this is what you get from junk food, its very unhealthy - 9 cal per gram
All foods have some form of fat, fat is not exactly what puts on weight, todays diets are very high in carbohydrates, there are a lot of misleading products that have "fat free" or "low fat", with calorie counting you will find that these products had always very little fat to start with and high amounts of carbs, keep in mind there are good carbs like salads filled with folate and bad carbs like icecream, cakes and fast foods. I lost a lot of weight when I counted how much of everything I was eating to find out a lot of it was carbs, so I did something around 2/4 protein 1/4 carbs 1/4 fat. Fruits are very good for you but if you can switch for vitamins that will help.
alcohol has 7 calories per gram and the body processes it as a carbohydrate
There are foods that have carbs and protein like milk, eggs are just protein and non saturated fat, meats and fish have fats.
we learn from the bible that god spoke to adam ,then certain faithful ones, then after moses only the preisthood that was established, and individuals, raised as prophets, and this by the way is only a a small select group on the planet.never mind about other groups of humans.
fastforward to the era of christ ,again, god is only dealing with a small select group to advise and admonish.during the time from moses to christ he was only dealing with what became one small nation.the rest of humankind were left to their own devices.fastforward down to this 21st century we have no guidance/instruction/prophets to instruct or guide us.
( i know this is where jw`s would say but we have been preaching & teaching you god`s truths since 1879 ) all i can say their, is take your head out of the sand and look at all the changes ,corrections adjustments,re-adjustments,reversals,and failed expectations of prophecy you have published over this last century )so as to my question why hasn`t the god of the universe revealed himself to all humans of every race on all continents instead of just a small select group, if he truly was interested in the human race.
Atheism have their flaws and personaly I think I will never be one because me and my parents experienced things that could just not be explained, also who created the very first thing from the universe? for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction but who created the very first action?? all holy books and religions have big flaws, being the case I don't think I am shunning GOD or Gods or GODS.
Atheism which they prove and mock GOD dont really believe that GOD is real so technically they are not shunning because you can not shun something that is not there.
i was told this a while back by my mother in law.
she feels that all my troubles (and doubts about the organization) can eventually be conquered by "more deep bible study.".
i have come to the conclusion that to be a die hard witness you really have to have a good amount of suggestibility in your personality.
sabastious I would try to point out first that the bible actually does say to test everything in 1 The 5:21 then 1 John 4:1 then Matt 7:15-20 and explain 17 to 20 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
I think (like every other JW) they will want to move the conversation to new light, don't let them and re affirming what was just mentioned and ask them first if they agree, they will want to move the conversation to something similar but dont let them.
Just show them your view, because matthew opens up a new window to a host of questions never dared questioned or answered. But make sure all was to stay on the same subject which is the reason why you are taking liberal studies from biblical reasons.
And finally ask her if he/she can prove that 1 the5:21/1 john 4:1/matt 7:15-20 is in harmony with the watchtower views on liberal studies and what would be the purpose on a more deeper bible study if they do not allow freedom.
are anyone here excited about what they are going to report today at the astro-biological announcement?
i keep checking my local-time-zone to est converter :-)..
First life on other planets now this, sorry but I always see these announcements as a form of NASA funding advert.

PS: Deny God? Mmm I guess, im trying to find GOD but I dont want to use blind faith, at this stage I can not shun or Deny God because I don't know if he exists. I can deny and shun jw teachings because I'm aware and don't agree with their teachings.

OBVES wrote: The miracles were done there by God through Moses and what had happened to Israel ? Almost all that were freed from Egypt rebelled and died !
Your missing a lot of info there, Moses was a wanted man, a murderer which Jehovah of armies choosed Moses to go back and speak speak to pharaoh about HIS people (pharaoh slaved them because he was concerned that these gentiles were going at some stage to overcome the population of that land and take over it), but Moses was too much of a coward so he asked GOD if Aaron his brother could go instead of him, so of went Aaron which his stick was transformed into a snake and ate pharaoh's snake which was also transformed into a snake, so Jehovah of armies wanted to show is people how awesome HE is so HE made pharaoh into a very arrogant person so HE could show off HIS might, plagues, deaths of first borns/animals and eventually pharaoh's and his armies died when the winds holding the bridge of waters collided.
What strikes me in this story is what happens after, that the people who Jehovah of armies choosed told Aaron to make something to worship, so Aaron the kind lad he his told everyone to gather their gold so he can melt it and turn it into a golden calf so they all can worship it. Now think for second, all these things happened after they were free from slavery and they knew who helped them was the GOD of gods so why would they want to do something as stupid as this? why would they want to go back to slavery? To me this does not make any sense, lets say someone helps you escape from prison, do you thank the person who helped you escape or thank the lady crossing the road? So GOD sees what Aaron did and quickly filled with anger he was going to destroy everything but Moses pleaded with HIM for forgiveness. Later in Leviticus things dont go well between GOD and Aaron who didn't say anything when Jehovah of armies destroyed his sons and eventually was destroyed by GOD (this contradicts with Sirach).
With the exception of Genesis I find the four books of Moses/Israel shows in the tone of the translation to show a very jealous, strict and unforgiving god which does not have a problem in his nation killing men women and children (but at one stage they kept young female virgens for their own), lying, spying and having sex with more than one mate, also GOD did not keep his promise to Moses about Canaan, so when GOD says something will occur it does not necessarily mean that (unless everything goes according to plan)

The_Present_Truth good point
PS: Atheists dont shun God, they just dont believe in him, if HE appearead then they could shun HIM if they wish. I
ts not like the OT and NT makes things perfectly clear, are we talking about the blood thirst Jehovah of the OT or the loving Jehovah who gave his only begotten son of the NT? I could go on and on and on but I think I made my point, the more you learn about the issues about the bible the more you need blind faith to believe in it.
jehovah unmasked by nathaniel j. merritt.
has anyone read this and what are your thoughts, opinions?
i have just downloaded it tonight and i'm already on chap.
About the whole cosmos having a time limit, NASA had shown'd some time back how stars give birth to other starts so I dont see how the universe will end.
People should be encouraged to read these books and make up their own mind, even after reading all Bart Ehrman's books (which a lot of aspects is mentioned in this book but his more focused on the NT) this is one of those books that first its hard to let go.
